fresh figs on a plate with nuts, feta and greenery

Fig Salad with Black Honey

This fresh fig salad with Black Honey is sooo good!

We serve this up every year to anyone who walks through the door when our one fig tree goes crazy in March. Mostly because we drown in figs, and mostly because this is instantly easy to make.

To be honest, this salad is the only way I enjoy eating fresh figs. By themselves, I find figs too... well, too 'figgy'. But like this, the flavours are insanely good.

I have guess-timated quantities. This is a recipe where it's the ingredients that matter most, and you follow what your heart and tastebuds deem the best quantities.

This easy recipe was inspired by our figs and hazelnuts and quality locally made feta. Drizzling with Black Honey and Black Garlic Olive Oil is essential for the right level of sweetness and goodness.

This is a recipe where it's the ingredients that matter most, and you follow what your heart and tastebuds deem the best with regards to the quantities.

Swap out hazelnuts for walnuts, pine nuts or other nuts you enjoy. And if you have parmesan in the fridge instead of feta, why not try that? And if you don't have figs, consider red grapes instead.
