Ingredients
5-6 sausages
1 onion
1 apple, cored and cubed
1 cup beef stock (we recommend Simon Gault’s beef stock concentrate)
1 tin of chopped tomatoes, 400gm
¼ cup fruit chutney
1 tbsp Black Garlic Essence
1 tbsp Meat Mix spice blend from Mixed Roots or a Moroccan Flavour Shot from Simon Gault.
¼ tsp Black Garlic Sea Salt
2 cups frozen peas
Spices to use if no ready made spice blend available
½ tbsp ground coriander
¼ tsp cumin
¼ tsp allspice
Directions
It is not necessary to brown the sausages but it is easy to do in a fry pan with a bit of oil while prepping the onion and apple.
Cut the sausages into 5 - 6 pieces and add to the slow cooker.
Add all the ingredients - except the peas - to the slow cooker.
Stir well and cook on high for 4 hours, or low for 6-8 hours.
Stir through 2 cups of frozen peas 15 minutes before serving.
Recipe Note
Delicious served with mashed potato or mashed kumara.
